Free website speed test.

We ask Google PageSpeed Insights to load your page on a simulated phone and on a desktop. You see its score, the timings behind it, and Core Web Vitals, Google’s page-experience measurements, from real Chrome users when Google has enough of them.

What it checks.

  • Lighthouse score

Google’s performance score from 0 to 100, for a mobile and a desktop load.

  • Lab timings

Largest Contentful Paint, Cumulative Layout Shift, Total Blocking Time and First Contentful Paint, against Google’s thresholds.

  • Real visitors

Core Web Vitals from the Chrome UX Report: the 75th percentile of real visits over 28 days, when Google has enough data.

  • What slows it down

The biggest savings Lighthouse found, largest first.

  • Page weight

How much a visitor downloads to see the page.

  • Our own measurement

Our server also times how long the HTML takes to arrive, how heavy it is and whether it is compressed. It works even when Google’s quota is used up, and it runs from outside Pakistan, so treat the time as a server figure.

How the score works.

The number at the top is Google Lighthouse’s own mobile performance score, from 0 to 100 (higher is better), exactly as PageSpeed Insights reports it. Lab results move a little from run to run. When Google can’t run the test there is no score, and our server’s measurement still shows.

Why it matters for a business in Pakistan.

Many visitors here open websites on mid-range Android phones over mobile data. PageSpeed’s mobile test simulates exactly that kind of phone on a slow 4G connection, so the mobile score is the one to watch.

Page weight matters here as well. Every megabyte your page sends comes out of a customer’s data bundle.

Questions about this tool.

Why is my mobile score lower than desktop?

The mobile run simulates a mid-range phone on a slow 4G connection; the desktop run assumes a fast computer and a fast connection. The same page has to do more work on the phone.

What are Core Web Vitals?

Google’s three page-experience measurements: Largest Contentful Paint (how fast the main content appears; good is 2.5 seconds or less), Interaction to Next Paint (how quickly the page responds to a tap; good is 200 ms or less) and Cumulative Layout Shift (how much the page jumps; good is 0.1 or less).

Why is there no real-visitor data?

Google publishes real-visitor data only for pages and sites with enough Chrome traffic, and many small business sites don’t have enough yet. The lab results still apply.

Why did it say the quota is used up?

The test runs on Google’s free PageSpeed Insights service, which has a shared limit. When it is reached we tell you instead of showing a guess. Try again later, or test the page at pagespeed.web.dev.

Why does my score change between runs?

The lab test runs on Google’s servers, and network and server timings vary a little each time. Watch the trend and the individual timings rather than one number.
